October 2024
As the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games come to a close, Koo Foundation is honoured to have hosted a special celebration ceremony and sharing event on October 12, 2024. This event, held at the Hong Kong Sports Institute, aimed to recognise the outstanding achievements of the Hong Kong delegation, which won 3 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze medal.

In collaboration with the China Hong Kong Paralympic Committee, we organised this celebration to honour the athletes' remarkable accomplishments on the highest stage of the Paralympics. All Hong Kong athletes who attended the Paralympics in Paris received a grant of HKD 100,000 each from the foundation to support their training and living expenses.

One of the highlights of the day was the chance for our athletes to connect with over 30 enthusiastic students from Fortress Hill Methodist Secondary School and the Hong Kong & Kowloon Kaifong Women's Association Sun Fong Chung College. The joy in the room was palpable as the athletes shared their personal stories and inspired the students with messages about resilience and determination.

The students were thrilled to chat with their heroes, sharing their favorite sports and asking questions about the Games. It was such a heartwarming moment to see the spirit of sportsmanship shining through. Our Chairwoman, Lydia Koo, shared her heartfelt gratitude to the athletes for their dedication and hopes to inspire the students to chase their dreams. This event was not just a celebration; it was a wonderful opportunity for the students to see the athletes as role models.
