For many of Hong Kong's underserved communities, accessing basic dental care is a source of anxiety and pain. Statistics also highlight this urgent crisis, as 70% of patients with special needs (including the physically disabled) haven't seen a dentist in over three years despite experiencing chronic tooth pain. This neglect isn't a choice, but the result of structural barriers. Most conventional dental clinics lack the ample space, specialised equipment, or accessible facilities necessary to comfortably treat individuals with disabilities, especially wheelchair users.
That is why the Koo Foundation is proud to join fellow funders in supporting the Cancer Support Society Smile Dental Centre Limited to launch The "Smile With Teeth" Project. This strategic collaboration allows us to pool resources, share expertise, and amplify our impact, ensuring that professional, compassionate, and affordable dental care is finally within reach. Together, we are turning years of silent suffering into healthy smiles.
